Catherine Williams

Catherine began studying the violin with Pam Oxenham at age 6. She began attending Fishers Ghost Youth Orchestra at age 10 and was a member till 2007. In 2002, Catherine won a scholarship to attend the Sydney Conservatorium Youth Access Program and whilst attending this program, studied with Nadia Monastrasky.

In 2005, Catherine successfully auditioned for Sydney Youth Orchestra, and toured nationally and internationally with them. In 2006, she won the MACPAS String Championship. At the end of 2007, Catherine success-fully auditioned for the Tasmanian
Conservatorium and also received the Vice Chancellor String Scholarship. Whilst completing her Bachelor of Music, Catherine studied with Tasmania Symphony Orchestra’s concertmaster, Jun Yi Ma. Catherine now resides in Sydney and studies with Janet Davies.
